Can't Take It!

Rant about anything

Add define: to Mozilla Firefox Address Bar

Not sure if anyone ever uses define:someword when doing google searches or not.  It basicly gives you a list of definitions for the word after define:.

In Google Crome you can type define:someword in the address bar and it will give you the correct results.

If you do this in Firefox you will get the following error:
'Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (define) isn't associated with any program'

To fix this simply follow the following steps:

  1. Open This Google Query a new tab
  2. Copy and paste this into the address bar:
    javascript:navigator.registerProtocolHandler('define','http://www.google.com/search?q=%s','Google Define');
  3. You will see a small message bar asking to add application. Press 'Add Application'.
  4. Now type: define:test in the address bar
  5. Select Application:
    Google Define
  6. Check box: Remember my choice for define links.

That's it.  You're done.  Now you can type define:anyfuckingwordyouwant in the address bar to get its definition.

this isn't really a rant but I am admin and i do as i please.
